Jonas Staal is a visual artist and writer. His installation series "De Geert Wilders werken" (2005) brought him critical acclaim from both press and critics. The installations consisted of candles, teddy bears and photo collages of Geert Wilders, a populist right wing politician, installed in public spaces in Rotterdam and The Hague. A subsequent series of installations, "Car Bomb" (2006), revolved around reconstructions of car bomb wreckages, illegaly placed on public locations in Rotterdam.
